The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the departments and agencies of the United States Government. The CFR is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. The vast majority of the regulations apply to industries outside of the commercial real estate sector. Three specific CFR titles, with regulations pertinent to the commercial real estate industry area, include: Energy – Title 10, Labor – Title 29, and Protection of Environment – Title 40.
